ViaGene Fertility is an independent, state-of-the-art facility open to all physicians and patients in need of a full line of PGD-related laboratory services. ViaGene Fertility is one of the most successful programs because its founder, Dr. Sergei Evsikov, has made it his mission to use the latest and best technology to produce world-class results and success rates. Dr. Evsikov has pioneered many important innovations and improvements in the areas of fertility and reproductive genetics and has over 20 years of experience in the are of reproductive genetics.

Two examples of how we are able to provide such a high success rate are as follows: Our high-tech IVF facility is fully equipped with the most advanced equipment for fertilization, embryo culture, micromanipulation and cryopreservation. Importantly, our embryo culture environment has been uniquely designed to combat the presence of environmental contaminants found in the air of every IVF lab and which have a significant negative effect on embryo cleavage and pregnancies. We optimistically plan for every IVF patient to achieve a successful outcome at ViaGene Fertility. While that has not happened at this time, elimination of embryo-toxic factors and other innovations have allowed us to approach that goal. Another innovation at ViaGene Fertility is our rapid turnaround time to get PGD results. While blastocyst transfer on day five or six can be useful, the highest overall pregnancy rates are obtained by replacing eight-cell embryos or morulas on day three or day four, respectively. Since one of the problems with PGD, and extended embryo culture in general, is the fact that some embryos may cease development in vitro while awaiting the results (traditionally taking 24 to 48 hours), we have shortened that gap considerably. IVF and PGD done at our facility now makes it possible to biopsy the embryo, complete the genetic analysis, and replace the embryo in the same day or the next morning. We at ViaGene Fertility are working to make sure that patients no longer have their embryo transfers cancelled or have dying embryos replaced during a PGD cycle where the embryo transfer is delayed. PGD is an extremely important addition to fertility treatment and we are happy to have eliminated several of the last remaining drawbacks.
